Ontario Canada Feati University Alumni Group Awards Scholarship Grant

A Dean's Lister, with a combined Grade Point Average of 1.59 Anoba has been selected over 4 other strong candidates by a 3- person panel composed of FEATI University academic heads ,namely: Engr. Alfredo F. Villarin, Engr. Enrique A. Macaspac, Ms. Mercedes H. Duterte, in cooperation with the University's Student Assistance Service Officer Ms. Ma. Natividad Ladip-Gomez.

As part of TFAT's outreach initiatives, the “Scholarship / Bursary Grant” is arranged in mutual partnership with FEATI University (and currently managed by Ms. Melanie P. Florentino) in keeping with TFAT's policy to reach out and contribute its resources for the benefit of needy- but- deserving Filipino students in order to achieve their dream of completing their academic degree programs. Proudly, for the past 18 years, TFAT has this ongoing scholarship project with the University, providing bursary assistance to targeted and qualified students in identified academic programs and courses. The TFAT- FU scholarship project has now a total of 12 recipients since its introduction in 1999.



Additionally, the “TFAT-FU Academic Excellence Awards”, now on its 14th year and with a total of more than 45 awardees, is a joint yearly initiative of fully engaging and encouraging university students to aspire and excel in their respective academic endeavours and for top graduate - performers, to compete for meaningful recognition and respectable reward.

The Featineans Association of Toronto, faithful to its established mission and mandate, is a socio-professional organization that has been a major partner and active participant in the Filipino-Canadian and mainstream communities in the GTA pursuing desirable initiatives benefiting targeted recipients of its on-going projects and programs.

Among its admirable achievements are as follows:

1)      An 18-year old Scholarship Project

2)      Academic Excellence Recognition Awards for FEATI University top graduates;

3)      Calamity relief fund assistance;

4)      Financial contributions to charitable organizations and foundations in Canada and in the Philippines;

5)      Social events fundraising; and

6)      Active participation in the inter-university ,known as Philippine Colleges and Universities Alumni Association, summer sports intramural

TFAT is currently headed by Engr. Oliver Rey, confidently on his second leadership and longest service term ever. Since its foundation in July,1989, the proud organization of alumni and former students, faculty members and employees of the 76 year old educational institution by-the-Pasig River, TFAT former presidents include: Julio Buiza,Jr., Edmundo Birondo, Maximiano Recaido, Frank Amurao, Oliver Rey and Moises Ga. The living founders are Julio Buiza, Jr, Tony A. San Juan, Tirso Balitian and Anita Taay-Buiza. Within productive and meaningful partnerships, The 28-year old Featineans Association of Toronto hopes to continue and meet challenging organizational projects and programs in any way possible.
