PIDC Slates Induction of Executive Officers and Board of Directors for 2018-2019

The Philippine Independence Day Council- PIDC  sets the induction of its Executive Officers and  Board of Directors on March 25, 2018, Sunday, 6:00 p.m. at Max's Restaurant, 1520 Steeles Avenue West, corner Dufferin Street, Vaughan, Ontario L4K 3B9.

Those to be sworn to office for the 2018-2019 term are : Karen Pascual-Binaday- president, Ben Corpuz - exec. vice president, Tom Tan- external veep, Gene Elamparo- internal veep,Rory Elefano-special project veep,Chyrell Samson-exec. secretary, Aimee Maravilla-asst. exec. secretary, Nene Ticzon-treasurer, Ted Dayno- asst. treasurer, Al Tupe - auditor, Mike Aprieto & Jeff Mesina -press relation officers, Clyde Pacis & Melinda Manlapaz- business managers, Verth Bugtong & Paulina Corpuz - community liaison officers, and  Imie Belanger, Helen Lao, Suzy Llanera, Vilma Tahsin and Nanding Ticzon as directors.  To be inducted too are Norma Carpio, PIDC Adviser & Chairman Emerita, Mabuhay Philippines and Minda Neri, Adviser.

The PIDC Council of Leaders is composed of Rose Cruz, Anita Diaz, Aris Elefano, Ramon Estaris,  Roland Ibarra, Marlene Lucas, Lovely Luna, Socorro Maravilla, Agnes Miranda, Ric Norona, Pidoy Pacis, Ralph Paguirigan, Myrna Palmer,  Ofelia Santiago and Roger Tarca. The new sets of officers , directors and council leaders were elected on December 10, 2017 at Metro Hall,  Toronto.

Invited to be the guest of honour and inducting officer is Hon. Rosalita Prospero, Consul General of the Philippines - Toronto.  Aimee Maravilla and Verth Bugtong are designated as chair and co-chair of the semi formal  event.

The quintessential Filipino Canadian non-profit umbrella organization in Ontario  is on track in pursuing its mandate and goals of holding the ever popular and purposeful  annual Mabuhay Philippines Festival, Little Miss and Miss Philippines PIDC, Salu-salo sa Earl Bales Park Community Potluck Picnic, Mabuhay Cup Invitational  Basketball Tournament, Philippine Independence Day Flag Raising event  at Queen's Park, and Filipino Heritage Month Inaugural Celebration as amongst other established community- focused programs in June and August, 2018.
