Canada to participate again at the SM NBTC Championships in the Philippines

Crossover Sports Canada once again secured a slot for Canada to participate at the 2018 SM NBTC National Championships on March 19-24 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila. Canada will be one of the international teams invited that includes the US, New Zealand and Australia.


SM NBTC National High School Championships gathers the top high school teams around the Philippines through its regional qualifiers. It is headed by Coach Eric Altamirano and supported by Shoe Mart and Chooks-to-Go, ang Manok ng Bayan.

Bannered by top Fil Canadian recruit Matthew Daves, Team Crossover Canada would try to improve its 5th place finish in the last two years. Other members of the team include NBTC veteran campaigner Andre Cruz, Max Cruz, Brendon Ocampo and new additions Joshua Lao, Jayson Lao, Justin Molera, Mark Espinese, Elijah Dela Cruz. Also being considered to make the team includes Paolo Malacad, Cale Calura, Jason Diaz, Denzel Faraon, Josh Samonte, Mico Oligane and Tyler Garcia.

They areexpected to arrive on March 12 and will have a series of exhibition games against Jubilee Christian Academy, La Salle St. Benilde, San Beda and Ateneo as part of their preparation leading to the national championships where they are expected to slug it out with NCAA Jr. Champions La Salle Greenhills and runner up Mapua, MBBL finalist San Beda and Chang Kai Shek, UAAP front runner Ateneo Blue Eaglets and regional champions from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.



Team Crossover Canada is being supported by Javita Coffee, Asenso Remit, Drita Bruci of Remax Collection, VSix Consulting of Rey Vindua, Rodan + Fields, Millennium Financials of Elsie Altamirano, Metro Health Care of Levi Frias, San Miguel Beer, Jollibee, Under Armour Philippines, Smart, Applebees,WFCC, Body Bliss, UFCW, Dignity, RSAV Solutions, FBL Canada and Crossover Sports Canada.
