The Block Rosary Crusade of Toronto was established in1982 by a group of Parishioners from St. Bartholomew Church in Scarborough. The main objective of this Prayer Group was to propagate the daily praying of the Rosary with their families.

Jun Salvador, one of the original founders of this Rosary Group 1, George and Dolly Poblete, who are among the original coordinators of this Rosary Prayer group are still active until now. They started with BR Group 1 with 52 families. This Block Rosary have grown to 14 groups of 52 families with  over 700 member families in the GTA, to Oshawa in the east and to New Market in the north.

They conducted the first major fund raising to build the Prince of Peace church in Scarborough, by having a dinner dance at Libermann Catholic High School in 1985, where 500 guests attended.
