17th Rizal Commanders Ball at JC’s Banquet Hall  in Toronto

The Knights of Rizal Canada Region Council led by Regional Commander Sir Ed Prillo, KGOR, held their 17th Commanders Ball at JC’s Banquet Hall in Toronto on October 14th, 2017.

Amongst those who graced the occasion were Lady Lourdes Prillo; former  Rizal  Canada Region Commanders Sir Lapulapu Cana, KGCR, Sir George R. Poblete, KGCR, and Lady Dolores, Supreme Council Exchequer Sir Jaime T. Marasigan, KGOR, and Lady Bing. Canada Region Executive Officers present included: Sir Dr. Romy Sinajon, KGOR, Sir Placido Mineque, KGOR, Sir Joaquin T. Taduran, Jr., KGOR, Sir Mario Alpuerto, KGOR, Sir Manny Yanga, KGOR and Sir Ver Amante, KCR. Other high ranking Commanders present were Sir Joe Damasco, KGOR, Sir Frank Crawford, KGOR, Sir Felix de Luna, KGOR, Sir Dario Boco, KGOR, Sir James de la Paz, KGOR, and Sir Jun Calaguio, KCR.

Knights from Rizal Chapters from all over Canada came over and joined the organization’s major celebration. Host Commander Sir Pastor Elmer Manzo, KCR,  led his committee of Rizal Commanders. The 200 Knights, Ladies representing various organizations and Guests present at the event enjoyed the celebration.

Special guests included Consul Edwin Mendoza of the Philippine Consulate in Toronto, Sir Senator Tobias Enverga, KGOR, and his wife Lady Rosemer, Sir Joe Daniels, KCR, Sir Roman Baber, KR, and  Former Toronto Councilor and Mayoralty Aspirant Doug Ford, who expressed his intention to join the Rizal fraternity in Canada.

Canada Region Commander Sir Eduardo C. Prillo, KGOR presented several Rizal awards and medals to the large Montreal Chapter delegation  and to several  Knights. This includes Rizal medals and plaques to Host Commander Sir Pastor Elmer Manzo, KCR; Certificates of Appreciation to Sir Joe Damasco, KGOR,  Sir Jojo Taduran, KGOR and to Sir Mario Alpuerto, KGOR.

Canada Region Awardees                            
Sir Ed Prillo presented the Award of Excellance to Sir George R. Poblete, KGCR.
Canada Region Commander presented this Award of Excellence to Sir George Poblete, former Canada Region Commander and Supreme Council executive to recognize his dedicated contribution to Canada as the only Filipino Canadian Knight to receive the highest honors and/ or the highest rank in the following, amongst other achievements:
·         Queen's Sovereign Medal for Volunteers -  Ottawa, Canada (2017)
·         Knight Grand Cross of the Holy Sepulchre (KGCHS) - Canada / Vatican (2015)
·         Pro-Patria, Presidential Medal - Canada / USA / Philippines (2014)    
·         Knight Grand Cross of Rizal. (KGCR) - Canada /Philippines (2013)
