The Philippine Fiesta of Victoria Incorporated (PFVI) has elected  its 16 director for two years  on its Annual General Meeting  (AGM) on 25 September 2016 at Filipino Community Council of Victoria (FCCVI) Multi-purpose Centre, Footscray, Victoria, Australia.  The AGM was attended by about 60 members.

On 9 October, the Philippine Fiesta directors elected their executive officers. They are: Ross Manuel (Chairperson), Jess Narte (1st Vice Chairperson), Choy Symes (2nd Vice Chairperson ; Fellina Fyfe (Secretary), Cecille Fernando (Treasurer), Resy Lim (Assistant Treasurer), Terry Kane (PRO). The directors are:  Mario Magbiray, Fely Roxas, Mario Dumrigue, Ernie Pagar,  Warlito delos Reyes,  Rene Tamoro , Orlando Victuelles  and Manny G. Asuncion.

This year, the Philippine of Victoria Incorporated will celebrate its 34th year at the Melbourne Showgrounds on 3-4 December 2016.  Over the years the  Fiesta has become the biggest and much-awaited event to the Filipino-Australian communities in Victoria.

For years without a break, the iconic Fiesta becomes a  palpable venue for showcasing the Filipino culture and colourful traditions to the Australian multi-cultural society;  an  annual reunions for families, relatives and friends;   as well as a great opportunity for  trade and business ventures.
This year’s theme DALAWANG BANSA ISANG DIWA (TWO NATIONS, ONE SPIRIT), enunciates the recognition of migrant Filipinos’ blessings afforded by the two countries closest to their hearts, minds and souls: The Philippines and Australia (The Philippines, their country of origin that gifted them of their vibrant culture, history and traditions.  Australia, that welcomes them and offers them with wider opportunities, health, education and economic stability).

This forthcoming Philippine Fiesta hopes for more attendance and cooperation among Filipino-Australian communities and other multi-cultural groups not only in Victoria but also in other states of Australia.
