Knights of Columbus Lifetime Achievement Award to SK George R. Poblete

Grand Knight Greg Saldanha quoted " on his distinguished and colourful tenure in the Knights of Columbus, and left us all in awe to him. He has held several coveted roles and titles, not just in our council, but in the 4th degree Assembly and in the District level.  Bro. George is truly the stalwart of our council, and to have someone like him in our midst is truly an honour. He is loved by all.  His constant support and guidance to all of us, leaves us with nothing but praise and admiration for him".

Grand Knight Gregory Saldanha, SK has led the KC Council # 9144 since last year.  The Council has done so much for the Church, Community, the Family, Council, the Seniors and the Youth. The KC Ontario State presented Council # 9144  the  KC Ontario Membership Award.

Council Projects last year include: Basketball Free Throw (Youth), Life Chain (Church) Choir Singing in Seniors Home (Seniors), Christmas Party (Children/ Youth), Pilgrimage to Fatima at Lewistown, N.Y.
(Church, Family) and Bingo (Family). The Council member knights continue to be active in the Prince of Peace Church ministries the whole year.

This year, KC # 9144 Council had a Pilgrimage to Quebec Holy Door and Sainte-Anne de Beaupre (Church). The Council is presently completing a project (altar)  at Divine Infant School (Church); have scheduled a Family Picnic in September; Life Chair (Church) in October;  a Memorial Mass (Family, Church), Bowling (Family), collecting used eyeglasses for Africa (Community) and will send clothing for the poor in the Philippines in November; Choir Singing and Christmas party is scheduled in December.

SK Greg Saldanha, GK  expressed his appreciation to the Knights in the council for their continuous great performance. On behalf of the KC # 9144, Grand Knight SK Greg Saldanha presented a rollator to SK Nol Tejada, a Charter member of this Council (SK Nol talked about his regular Catholic Mission to the Philippines). Awards were presented to the Family of the Month to Deputy Grand Knight  Bro. Rocky Tsiung and the Knight of the month  to Bro. Ramo Harricharran.
