Riyadh-FILVAR nagkamit ng ikatlong gantimpala

RIYADH: RIYADH: Sa katatapos lamang na 2nd Inter-GCC All Filipino One Day Volleyball League na idanaos sa Al Muharraq Gym, Kingdom of Bahrain noong ika-7 ng Hulyo 2016,  nasungkit ng Riyadh-FILVAR (The Filipino Volleyball Association in Riyadh) ang ikatlong pinakamataas na parangal na sinalihan ng mga koponan mula sa iba’t ibang bansa sa GCC.

Naiuwi ng Dubai-FEVA ang championship trophy na sinundan ng Qatar-FIVBA sa 2nd place. Nakuha naman ng Bahrain-CABALEN FCVG ang 4th place at Dammam-PVA-5th place, Kuwait-6th place at Bahrain-NEC FCVG-7th place, ayon sa pagkakasunid.

Pinarangalan naman si Allen Mendoza ng Dubai bilang Most Valuable Player at napabilang rin sa Mythical Six si Alvin Medina ng Riyadh.

Maituturing na isang malaking tagumpay para sa grupong FILVAR ang pagkapanalo ng koponan dahil ito ang kanilang kauna-unahang sabak sa nasabing liga. Kabilang sa mga manlalaro na nagbigay-ambag sa tagumpay ng grupo ay sina Alvin Medina, Kevin Gira, Francis Quidlat, Tj Guevara, Julius Castañeda, Squall Baclagon, Stephen Joseph, Gilbart Torres, Jaydee Casiño, Byne Villota at Jondee Ramos kasama si Lito Versoza, na siyang kumatawan sa grupo bilang kanilang lider. Naging malaking bahagi rin ang Western Union sa nasabing tagumpay ng FILVAR na nagbigay ng tulong at suporta sa grupo.

Ang nabanggit na liga na inorganisa ng Filipino Club Volleyball Group in Bahrain ay dinaluhan ng mga koponon mula sa Bahrain, Riyadh-KSA, Dammam-KSA, Dubai-UAE, Qatar at Kuwait.
