Liham mula kay Tatay

Ni Willie Jose

(I’d like to give my column’s space to my father’s letter sent to us in 1990 when my family and I were still in the Philippines. This letter is postmarked  “27 DEC 1990 Long Island NY 117” via airmail. My Tatay who was fondly called  “Ka Tino” by his close friends used to have a column  “Doon Po Sa Amin” in the Philippine Free Press’ Pilipino magazine . He died in New York in 2007 at the age of 93.)

Kaya’t lagi n’yong tandaan, saan man kami naroroon,

Kapag ika’y tamarindo, walang sipag, walang tiyaga,

Samantala, hinihiling nitong Tatay ninyong panot,
