FILCOM-MALTA SUMMER OUTING 2015

By Veronica Ugates

On the 15th of August 2015, a holiday in Malta, a celebration of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, patron saint of Malta, the FILCOM organization decided to have their summer fun since most of the members are enjoying a rare off day.

Most of the officers were there with the President, Veronica Cadag-Ugates leading the group which almost did not find each other, most have not been to Marsascala Bay which is quite a long stretch of beach, and it was daunting to discover so many other nationalities as well as locals were already there when they arrived.

It was the proverbial needle in the haystack set-up. What the president did was to stand at the bus stop, which was providentially near at hand, and rally everyone from there with many phone calls and messages until everyone was found.

But having found each other it was a happy group indeed that stayed until almost midnight as there was a lot of food to partake and share plus a very tasty barbecue as Michael Montefort, Rosalia’s husband, with Antonio Pandes help, gamely lugged down the heavy barbecue stand to the water’s edge.
