UP CONCERT CHORUS PERFORMS IN NORTHERN ITALY


 
 


05 June 2015 – The Philippine Consulate General in Milan witnessed the captivating performances of the University of the Philippines Concert Chorus (UPCC) in Parocchia di San Pietro Apostolo, Cassano d’Adda on May 28.

The chorus group was invited to perform in Bergamo and Cassano d’Adda in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of “BERGIAS” circle, a group founded by Mr. Gabriele Riva which comprised of communities around Bergamo and Milan. Mayor of Cassano d’Adda, Mr. Roberto Maviglia, praised the world-class performance of UPCC and expressed appreciation to the Philippine Consulate in Milan for supporting the UPCC performances.

UPCC is set to make waves on the global scene to promote Philippine culture with their exceptional talents with the theme, “Isang Paglakbay: Internasyunal Konsert Tur”, backed-up with 50 golden years of tradition. UPCC is led by Director/Conductor Professor Janet Sabas-Aracama and composed of selected students and alumni from different colleges of the University of the Philippines.

The group is also set to perform in other European countries until July 16, and move on to the United States of America from July 17 to August 22.




PHL CONSULATE GENERAL CONDUCTS MOBILE CONSULAR SERVICES IN MODENA AND PARMA, ITALY


04 June 2015 - The Philippine Consulate General in Milan conducted mobile consular missions in Modena and Parma on May 30 and 31, respectively.

The consular team, supervised by Vice Consul Helen Anne Sayo, provided services for passport renewal, civil registrations, notarials, and overseas voters registration. Also present in the outreach mission were the attached agencies, OWWA, Pag-IBIG and SSS, which provided their respective services.

Filipinos residing in Modena, Parma and nearby towns in the Emilia Romagna region availed of the services. The respective consular missions were conducted in the facilities of the historic baroque churches of Sant’Agostino and Sant’Uldarico.

A total of 431 consular services were rendered for the two-day event: 301 passports, 37 notarials, and 93 other services. There were also 148 Filipinos who registered for overseas voting.

The Consulate General regularly conducts outreach missions to provide consular services to Filipinos in Northern Italy who live in distant areas outside Milan.
