SSS to establish Office in Toronto, Ontario

The Philippine Social Security System will be establishing an Office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Office will enable the numerous members of the system in Canada's Filipino community who have temporarily stopped sending their dues to continue their membership and to facilitate communication with those with retirement issues.

Judy Frances A. See, Senior Vice President of SSS Account Management and International Operations, announced that the said office will be operational by March 2015 and will be headed by Roberto "Bobby" Roldan, who is presently assigned in Hongkong.

In the meantime, any question about SSS can be relayed to Roldan at , who will promptly answer the questions directly or forward it to appropriate parties at the SSS Central Office.

The Philippine Social Security System team headed by Senior Vice President Judy Frances A. See, held a two-day briefing & on site services on December 5th - 6th, 2014 at the Philippine Consulate General Office at 161 Eglinton Avenue in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and at the St. Paschal Baylon Church at 92 Steeles Avenue West, Thornhill, Ontario, Canada. She was accompanied by Joy A.Villacorta, head of the SSS OFW Membership Department, and the incoming head of the SSS Canada, Roberto "Bobby" Roldan.

The briefings were attended by the members of the Filipino community and by SSS partner and supporter, the IREMIT money remittance company (also known as International Remittance (Canada) Ltd.) composed of Ms. Belinda Lim Herrera, IREMIT Managing Director and Country Head; Simeon Sarte, Ontario Head and Marketing Officer; and Staff members, Jeddalyn Gandalera, Rubie Rose Yumang, Jean Ragadi, and Mhae Taruc.

The topics discussed and explained during the briefing included the SSS OFW coverage, continuation of membership, retirement, sickness benefit, disability, maternity, death benefit, salary and housing loan and flexi-fund program, among others. (St. Jamestown News Service, Romy Zetazate)*********
