Press Release

AN INVITATION to JOIN ENFiD NL

The Netherlands
By Rohlee de Guzman  (ENFiD NL)
December 4, 2012

We are glad to inform you that since 17 November 2012 ENFiD NL was formed. ENFiD is acronym for European Network of Filipino Diaspora. ENFiD was formed in September at the global conference of Filipinos in Rome. The idea behind ENFiD is to make structural the synergy of various initiatives, programs and projects of Europe-based Filipinos. ENFiD NL is the second country formation after ENFiD UK to be formed.

We will be honored if you strengthen this initiative by joining us in this endeavour.

Come on Saturday, 12 January 2013 at the Philippine Embassy in The Hague and be a part of this great initiative. The event will be from 13.00-16.00 hrs.

We know that your organisation and you as individual has been doing great work for the Filipino community, both here and in our homeland, in small and big ways.

We envision ENFiD NL to be a venue where we can support each ones activities and aspirations, both organisationally as well as individually. That is why our idea is also to welcome individual members as well.

We all know that in Limburg to Groningen and all the provinces in- between, kababayans, in groups or alone with Dutch family, colleagues and friends, are involved with projects or activities with the objective of contributing to the alleviation of the condition in our Homeland or to better our position here as migrants. Like you, we would like to be able to combine having ‘salo-salo’ and various kinds of parties, fiestas and other celebrations here, with our commitment to help out our communities back home while strengthening our bonds with fellow kababayans here in the Netherlands as well as in other parts of Europe.

How do we do this? Why would we to do this? And where?

We would like to discuss these with you. Your ideas and experience would be valuable input. Together we can brainstorm on what is doable and how we can go about this. We believe that our involvement together as early as this formative period can already be a good start of our bonding. Also we would like to choose a Country Representative of the Netherlands to the ENFiD Europe, which will meet in Malta 18-20 January 2013. Perhaps you or someone you know is interested?

For more information or for attendance please contact us at multilateral@philembassy.nl or rohleedeguzman@gmail.com or doris.alfafara@gmail.com.

See you in The Hague.

Sincerely,

ENFiD NL team (Diana, Sofia, Lien & Rose of Stg. Bayanihan, Pops of Damayan, Doris of Habagat, Coring of UMDW, Jessie of BisDak, Rohlee of Siena Kolektiba and Vice Consul Cynthia of the PE)
